Potty Training (Pt.2)

My Dearest Belle,

Since we succeeded potty training a few months back, you’ve only needed a diaper for night sleeps. I was waiting for you to wake up with a dry diaper for at least a few nights before we try to do away with the diaper altogether. Four nights ago, you woke up and gleefully told me that you didn’t pee in your diapers.

But I had been fooled in the past.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that your diaper was bone dry! You were so excited that you asked if you could start wearing your undies to sleep at night. I had to pull the brakes and negotiate with you: three additional nights of no wet diapers, and we would give it a go with the undies at night.

And you did it.

Last night, we added another step to your bedtime routine: papa takes you to the bathroom, we all exclaim, “Wakanda!”, you cross your arms in front of your chest, he pulls your shirt around your arms to lock them in, you pee, and THEN, it’s finally time for bed.

The “Wakanda” move is to ensure you don’t touch anything and therefore you don’t have to wash your hands… IDK, Peanut… as of late, you’ve been trying to find ways to get out of touching anything while you go so that you don’t have to wash your hands.

Anywho, this morning, you woke up, and I am so proud and happy to share that you have officially ditched the diapers!!! Papa and I are sooooooooo proud of you!!!

Love always,
Mama
